Websites been down for 3 months. When i try booking the website crashes no matter what computer or hardware i try to use. End up having to call in, getting but on long wait times and customer reps saying that the price i saw online has now expired and end up being charged more. If it had happened once, wtvr no big deal, but this is literally everytime. Get your poop together (trustpilot wont let me swear)

Typical government organization. Overpaid and apathetic staff. Rarely on time. They should try and run their business like they do in Europe. Via Rail, Air Canada, etc are poorly managed organizations.

Awful experience Toronto to Windsor. The train was delayed 4 hours in total (which had been changed multiple times in the 4 hour wait). The communication between the company and passengers is just awful. After waiting 4 hours the employees just said thank you for waiting have a good trip, like we had much of a choice at that point. I can understand inclement weather can play a role in travel but the handling of the situation was garbage.

The train ride was uncomfortable as we were being tossed about our seats. The cabin was freezing and considering we were travelling between 10-2am the train was way too bright. The employees seemed generally unhappy and unfriendly both ways (Windsor to Toronto and back). Never again!

I was reading a LOT of negative reviews on passengers experiences with Via Rail and it shocked me, as I had the most wonderful, attentive, courteous staff on my overnight trip on the Ocean, Francois in particular, was Stellar! I found my cabin to be large, comfortable, loved that I had my own bathroom, including shower, and Loved the food in the dining room! I am travelling with them again in May 2023 and I am looking so forward to it as that last trip was so Nice !

Checking in was very fast. Train left at the exact time displayed on the ticket. Plenty of luggage space and legroom for their escape tickets. The food options weren’t that great and were kind of expensive considering the portions, but that’s to be expected. Simple and comfortable ride. Arrived at the destination on time. Only complaint would be the wifi as it was pretty slow (through i was able to remain connected throughout the ride). Definitely would prefer Via over driving the 5 hours now.

Made the trip up to Hornpayne from Union Station. The way up was terrible. I didn’t know you had to have a credit card or cash. No debit. It’s a really long ride. I said I can’t believe it gets to BC in three days. It takes one just to get to Hornpayne. Seats are very uncomfortable. Bring a pillow!
The staff are very top notch, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful.
The way home was way better. Probably the fact it was overnight and quite. Watched the beautiful sunset.. woke up had breakfast in the dome car. Very long so prepare.

I traveled from Toronto to Ottawa with all my family and many luggage. All VIA Rail’s staff is the most kind and friendly people. We got help and guidance on every stage. Thanks a lot Via Rail!

If I hadn't cancelled my ticket because I was sick I would have been delayed both ways due to weather, but we're supposed to just take that. The message from Via Rail is travel when you're sick folks or we gouge you and you can't do anything about it. They do not need to charge such exorbitant fees to change your ticket dates: it is disgusting. Is anyone else tired of being crushed by corporations and of course our marvelous greedy governments? Should we just all give up?
